NEW TEACHERS GET A WARM BOSSIER WELCOME

Any time one starts a new job, there is bound to be nervous excitement.

That anxiety took a back seat recently when Bossier Parish Schools' new educators were treated to an afternoon of fun, food and prizes at the annual New Teacher Luncheon, hosted by the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and various sponsors.

Bossier Schools Superintendent D.C. Machen welcomed the parish's newest employees and motivational speaker Bonnie Dubin, with Motivate Me, demonstrated the five stages of teamwork.

A delicious lunch was also catered and there were loads of door prizes. Of course, who doesn't love to win a prize?

Thanks to community partners, teachers won $3,000 in cash prizes and an iPad. No one went home empty-handed, either, for each teacher received a goody bag with up to $25 worth of gift cards and gifts.

It was a great way to kick off the 2012-13 school year and their introduction into the Bossier Schools family and community.
