On March 25, 2010, Cypress Nature Study Center lost a great friend to wildlife, nature, and the environment, Joseph David Barrett, fondly known as Mr. Joe to 4-H youth from across the region. Joe Barrett was an active part of the programs provided through Cypress Nature Study Center since 1998, that included 4-H Nature Club, 4-H W.I.L.D. Conservation Ambassador Program (Working In Leadership Development through Conservation), Bass Pro Nature’s Rangers, Bossier 4-H Shooting Sports - Hunting Training, 4-H WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program), Project WET Facilitator, Project WILD Facilitator, and numerous other nature related activities. This loss has created a great whole in the hearts of the many people whose lives he impacted. Below is a small tribute to all the activities he impacted during his association with this facility.
