ABOUT THE PROGRAMS
Designed in accordance with the National Science Standards, the Louisiana Science Content Standards and correlated to the Comprehensive and Common Core Curriculum, all of the Cypress Nature Study Center’s educational programs engage children in hands-on/minds-on, participatory activities that reinforce students’ scientific knowledge, methods, and processes.
Most programs include an outdoor activity that allows students to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to a natural environment.
Information Packs can be put together to enhance and assist self-guided exploration of the trails for a small fee. Classes will be able to move at their own pace and with their own emphasis. Each pack contains binoculars, field guides, magnifying lenses, a dip net, an insect net, and an activity guide sheet. Arrangements for informational packs must be made in advance to assure their availability. Please contact the nature center for cost and availability.
