• About Welding

    The welding industry continues to change each year and the potential for employment at high salaries and wages is excellent for qualified welders.

    The trained welder may find employment in general repair shop welding, bridge construction, vessel fabrication, oil field machinery repair, general structural building fabrication, manufacturing, or some area of the construction industry.

    Students also have the opportunity to work toward NCCER certification.

    Sophomore, Junior, Senior

    Will need to be able to read a tape measure

    Will need to be able to multiply and divide fractions

    Wil need to be responsible, safety-conscious, and mature in shop setting

  • Dual Enrollment Information

    Northwest Louisiana Technical College

    Students have the opportunity to dually enroll at NLTC in the following courses:

  •  * CTS: Welder helper - Level I = 16 hours
    **CTS: Welder Helper Level II - 32 hours

    Technical Diploma in Welding = 45 hours
