The Bossier Parish Nursing Department mission statement is to 'Promote the optimal health of our students, thus ensuring their maximum attendance'. We are working to establish good nutritional habits, provide health screenings, and offer use of support services to give students the tools to achieve success. We strive to make every effort to ensure your child's learning environment is as healthy as possible. Positive, parental communication and involvement are the best ways to reach that goal. Please keep us aware of any/all recent changes in your child's health needs by contacting your School Nurse or the BPS Nursing Department.

What to do if your child needs immunizations:

Contact your physician

Contact the Bossier Health Unit for Bossier Parish immunization days

Check the Shots for Tots Schedule *See Link Below

Upon receiving the immunization, obtain an updated LA Immunization Card and download to the school portal annually and/or send it to the school office
You need to obtain a LA Immunization Card if:

Your child receives immunizations/boosters. (we recommend asking for/making a copy to keep at home)

You are from out-of-state and are enrolling your child in a Bossier Parish school*
-
You are enrolling your child in school, and they need immunizations/boosters according to current age requirements
*A current immunization card can be transferred to an LA Immunization Card at your doctor's office or Health Unit.
