  • The Haughton Middle School Student Council is a school group composed of student representatives who volunteer their time to make HMS the best school possible.  Being in the Student Council is a privilege, not a right. The students enrolled will be expected to show superior performance in the areas of leadership, citizenship and dedication to the betterment of Haughton Middle School.

We put together contests and various projects for our community, school, and students.

    Student Council Principles

Leadership—Supporting the development of student and adviser leadership skills and knowledge

Service—Helping build a climate of caring and tolerance through volunteerism and service to others

Student Voice—Promoting student council as the voice of the student body and giving every student an opportunity to be heard

Engagement—Encouraging students to become involved in school and community leadership and decision making

Student Council meets the first Monday of the month, however during the second semester we will meet on the first Friday of each month.
