Archery in Louisiana Schools (ALAS) is a part of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), which introduces students in grades 4 through 12 to international target-style archery. The program is taught as part of our school’s curriculum, in our physical education program. Students at schools that teach the ALAS curriculum are eligible to compete in state, national, and even world archery tournaments.

Archery is a great way to get students involved in not only a lifelong sport but also in their school and in the outdoors. ALAS and The W.T. Lewis Archery team seeks to inspire confidence in students through the focus and discipline that archery requires. Statistically, students involved in an archery in the schools program work harder in the classroom and feel more connected to their school. These programs engage both boys and girls equally.

The W.T. Lewis Archery team is made up of 4th and 5th grade students. The Archery team practices after school on Thursday's and will compete in multiple tournaments throughout the school year.
