Mathletes were selected to compete and they represented their schools well. In team placings, Elm Grove Middle took the 2nd place prize, followed by Cope in the 3rd place spot.

Individuals placing were Kylie Authement, who scored 4th overall, and Christian Orozco, who came in 10th overall.

Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator for grades 6-8 Jacob Hesselschwardt complimented students, teachers and administrators alike for the joint effort.

“Being selected to compete and then responding ‘yes’ to competing speaks volumes for the character and willingness of these students to consistently go above and beyond.” Hesselschwardt said. “I am proud of each and every one of our Mathletes. I also wish to extend congratulations and thanks to each of our MathCounts teachers for stepping forward in guiding our district to one of the best overall finishes that we have had in several years.”
