Brianna Cooley, a student at Parkway, and Macey McEachern, who attends Haughton High School, were selected as members of TAC, a program of Step Forward and initiative of the Community Foundation of North Louisiana.

TAC was formed in 2019 to engage youth in policy decision-making and provide students a voice on programming that impacts teens and young  adults in north Louisiana. In 2020, TAC members surveyed more than 5,000 area high school students and discussed the results with more than 50 delegates at the NWLA Teen Summit on mental wellness.

In the upcoming year, Cooley and McEachern, along with members of the TAC committee, will continue focusing on mental health awareness while also assessing the effects of COVID-19 on students throughout northwest Louisiana. The 2021 NWLA Teen Summit will be held virtually May 3, 2021.
