    Biography

    Amanda Parker considers herself very privileged to have the opportunity to be an instructor at BPSTIL in the Health Occupations Department. She was born in Shreveport, LA, and has lived in Bossier Parish for over 40 years. She is married with two children and a Goldendoodle named Pudge. Over the past 20 years, she has worked as a Registered Nurse in the areas of Critical Care, Post Anesthesia Care, and Primary Care/Ambulatory Care. Prior to BPSTIL, she served as a school nurse for Bossier Parish Schools. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling, watching her daughter dance and her son wrestle. She and her family attend Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, LA. As an Introduction to Health Occupations Course instructor, she looks forward to promoting the exploration of healthcare industry-based career options and building relationships with her students as well as enhancing her student’s medical terminology vocabulary in preparation for the potential pursuit of a healthcare profession.
