2023 HMS Yearbook Update:
Yearbooks will be shipped from Jostens the last week of May
and should be delivered to HMS the first week of June.
Once they arrive, we will announce pick up dates in June.
If you can't make one of the scheduled days, you can pick
up your reserved copy when school starts in August. -

HHS Basketball Skills Camp
The Haughton Lady Bucs basketball program invites all students (boys and girls) to attend its 3rd annual summer basketball camp. The instruction will be focused on the fundamental skills of the game including: ball-handling, shooting form, footwork, rebounding, passing, and defense.
Dates: May 24th-26th
Grades: 3rd-9th (fall 23’)
Place: Haughton High School Main Gym
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
Cost: $50.00
Camp instructors will include Head Coach Jenna Bolin and her former coach and mentor, and LHSAA Hall of Famer, Coach Steve McDowell, who also helps coach the Lady Bucs, and assistant coaches Willie Simmons and Taylor Freeman. Also, former teammates of Bolin and the Lady Bucs players will be helping out, too!

‼️Attention all current 7th grade students in Bossier Parish!
✏️Applications are now being accepted for the 2023-24 BPSTIL 8th Grade Academy at the Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning (BPSTIL). As part of the 8th Grade Academy students will spend half of their school day at BPSTIL completing a combination of middle school core and high school career & technical education (CTE) coursework. The other half of the day will be spent on the home school campus, completing the remaining required 8th grade courses. Students will have the opportunity to work alongside Bossier Parish middle and high school students from all over the district in a unique learning environment that focuses on building real world skills. This opportunity is available to a limited number of students from each middle school in Bossier Parish.
✏️Students who are interested in applying for the 2023-24 BPSTIL 8th Grade Academy should click the link to complete the online application form. Students will be required to select one program of study - Pre-Engineering, Digital Arts, Agriscience, or Business of Retail. Within each program of study, students will have the opportunity to earn 1-3 high school courses, an industry based credential, and complete two middle school subjects while on the BPSTIL campus for half of each school day. Transportation will be provided. Students must be logged in to their bossierstudents.org account in order to complete the application, and it can only be completed one time. The application link will be available until April 14th.

Mardi Gras Ball Pictures
Photo Booth available. If you want to participate in the
photo booth, bring $5 cash and you can purchase a wrist
band for unlimited group and individual photos throughout
the dance. You will receive a code that you will need to access your photos. Please don’t lose the paper

Holiday with HPD
Students can wear a holiday shirt and jeans for $5 on Friday 12/2. All funds raised will be donated to the Christmas with HPD Campaign.

MANDATORY SOCCER PARENT MEETING RESCHEDULED
Due to a death in Coach Linn's family, the mandatory soccer parent meeting initially scheduled for Monday, 11/14, has been RESCHEDULED for Wednesday, 11/16. Please keep Coach Linn's family in your thoughts. -
Food Drive
HMS participates every year in a food drive to help our community families in need have a great Thanksgiving. The homeroom class who fills the most baskets will get a pizza and cookie cake party. These are the items required to fill a basket are:
- pie crust
- cornbread mix
- cake mix
- canned cranberry sauce
- 2 cans of corn
- 2 cans of green beans
- instant mashed potato
- stuffing mix
- 2 boxes of macaroni and cheese
- Gravy
- 2 cans of yams
- can of frosting
Student council and NJHS provides a turkey for each family. Last day to turn in goods is November 11.

Parent Info Forum
HMS will host a Parent Info Forum on 10/27 from 6-7:30 in the HMS library. Guest speakers will be Melanie Thermador and Blake Lewis. Discussion topics include bullying, cyber bullying, cellphone safety, and the school improvement plan. This meeting is for parents only.

Attention Military Parents:Letters and permission slips were sent home earlier this week with any student whose OnCourse Registration indicates they are the child of an active duty or reserve/national guard member. If you would like your student to participate in Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counseling Services (CYB-MFLCs), please complete and sign the back of the form. Forms need returned to Mrs. Addison as soon as possible.
