  • The middle school AIM students will travel by parish bus to Avalon Faire in Kilgore, TX, on Friday, April 22, 2022. We will meet at 8 AM at the Bossier Educational Services Center (2900 Douglas Dr., Bossier City –near Lowe’s and Altitude). We will return to BESC around 1:45 PM that day.

    This year’s winning shirts were designed by Haughton Middle School’s own Bristol Goforth and Ben Lowe. Students who purchase a shirt will be allowed to wear it any day during the month of April.

    Students are encouraged to invite the veteran in their life to attend a celebratory donut breakfast. Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day, we stand united in respect for you, our veterans.
    Also as a show of our appreciation, ALL students are encouraged to wear jeans with patriotic or red/white/blue attire on Thursday, 11/11. Let's color HMS with the pride and gratefulness we have for those who serve or have served our great Nation.

  • Hall of Fame Applications

    We are excited to announce that the application period for HMS Hall of Fame is now open.
    The Hall of Fame is open to all 8th Grade Students. A Google Classroom has been created for students to complete the application process. Student's can obtain the classroom code from their ELA teachers if they are interested in applying.
    The deadline for submission is 8:00 am on November 8, 2021. This is a hard deadline with no exceptions.
    The HMS Student of the Year will be chosen from the Hall of Fame recipients. Information will be forthcoming once the Hall of Fame members are chosen.

  • Important!

    We want you to be informed that we are aware of a social media prank that is going around schools that encourages students to perform acts of vandalism at their school. We have experienced some of this type of vandalism at our local schools and want all to be aware we are taking this very seriously. Parents, please talk to your students about the problems with vandalism to property and the problems it causes. We are going to be very clear with the consequences, and they are serious. These acts of violence are wasting money, time, and resources in our community. The consequences for anyone found vandalizing Bossier Parish School property are as follows: 3 days out of school suspension, a recommendation for expulsion,  pay restitution for the damaged property, banned from any after school activities for the remainder of the year, and charged with institutional vandalism.  Anyone found to be promoting acts of violence through the use of social media may be subject to similar consequences.

    For a minimum $5.00 donation, students may wear jeans and a pink shirt to school Friday, September 24. All proceeds will go to Madison Christie and her family to support them after they lost their home in a fire. Please remember that jeans MUST be solid blue in color with no holes, rips, or tears. Let's show Madison some love and show up in pink (her very favorite color)!

    Students may wear Haughton Spirit shirts tomorrow, Friday, 9/17, to support the HHS Buccaneers in their homecoming game against Booker T. Washington High School.     Tomorrow, Tuesday, 8/17, is Community Spirit Night at the HHS Football Stadium. The fun officially starts at 6:00 pm but we want to make sure our HMS Bucs are ready to show their Haughton spirit!
    Students are encouraged to wear jeans that are BLUE in color with no rips, holes, or tears and a Haughton spirit shirt that is school appropriate. All red shirt, HMS shirt, HHS Football shirt, the list could go on and on! Just make sure you are in Haughton colors and help us celebrate our HAUGHTON BUCCANEERS and get this school year started off right.
    **There will be NO charge for wearing jeans tomorrow. Please make sure that your child's attire is school appropriate and follows the guidelines above or you will be called to pick them up.**
    A note from HHS:
    Haughton High is hosting Community Spirit Night tomorrow, August 17th at 6pm at Harlan Stadium. We have a couple of reminders for attendees.
    • PARKING on our campus is limited. We recommend carpooling from Haughton First Baptist Church or Haughton Middle School.. We will not run shuttles for this event. You may park in any parking lot on our campus.
    • Please avoid the construction areas throughout the campus.
    We are looking forward to seeing all the school's in our community represented and our students recognized.

    **First and foremost, if you are able to print or write down your schedule tonight from OnCourse, please do so and report to your homeroom class. We need as many students as possible to do this to assist us with social distancing guidelines.
    7th and 8th grade, this will be your 1st period class.
    6th grade, this will be your first CORE class (Math, Science, SS, or ELA) during 1st or 2nd period on your schedule.

    You can now begin the process of updating your students information for the 21-22 school year in your OnCourse Parent Portal. Your student WILL NOT be able to view their schedule for their upcoming school year after August 1 if this is not completed. 
    Any previous HMS student or our incoming 6th graders from HES and Princeton will have to complete the update. This has to be done YEARLY. 
    Registration is now open for all NEW STUDENTS as well! 
    **Any student/parent who will be utilizing a Declaration of Residency will need to physically come to the school to complete their process WITH the homeowner. This CANNOT be done online.**

  • HMS Cross Country Tryouts: May 26th

    Who- Current 5th-7th grade students

    What- Cross Country Tryouts

    When- May 26th @ 3:30-4:15 (HMS students will stay after school)

    Where- HMS athletic fields behind the school

    15-20 runners per grade will make the Cross Country team.
    Students will stretch, run short warm up drills, and end with a timed one-mile run.


    TEAM INFO: Runners will practice during the summer at HMS or South Bossier Park once per week (day and time TBD).  The season begins in late August and ends in early October.  Practice will be after school until 4:15.  There are a minimum of four competitions against other Bossier Parish schools at South Bossier Park.  Meets are on Thursdays, and 6th graders will run 1 mile and 7-8th graders will run 1.5 miles.
