To help students prepare for LEAP 2025 testing and retesting, the district is offering aLEAP Accelerate tutoring program. Highly qualified teachers will be available after school to provide intensive and deliberate instruction targeted to help students close learning gaps.
The program will run on Monday through Thursday from Nov. 1 – Dec. 3. See the schedule below and the linked calendar at the bottom of this article.
This program is available to ALL students who will be taking a LEAP 2025 assessment this semester. Students who have previously earned a score of "unsatisfactory" on a LEAP 2025 assessment and are scheduled to retest are highly encouraged to participate in this program. Students and parents were notified of retesting requirements by letter sent through first block teachers. These letters were also sent to both student and parent email addresses on file with the school.
Tutoring will be available Monday - Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. On Mondays and Wednesdays, students can get help with Biology from Ms. Pease in S221 and Algebra I/Geometry from Mrs. Melton in S224. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students can get help with English I from Mrs. Alexander in room E10, English II from Ms. Arnold in EN7, and US History from Mrs. Humphries in the Library. There is no cost to participate. Students will need to make arrangements for transportation on the days they participate.
