Greenacres Teacher Receives United Way Servant’s Heart Award
Christy Clark lives her life to serve others. Not only does she give of herself, but Clark also models the importance of volunteerism to her Beta Club students at Greenacres Middle School. Her actions have not gone unnoticed, garnering Clark the Servant’s Heart Award from the United Way of Northwest Louisiana (UWNWLA) at its annual Celebration of Impact.
Clark has been a long-time supporter of Bossier Schools’ Day of Service, an annual volunteer event held in partnership with the United Way. Each year, the sixth grade math teacher and Beta Club sponsor has gathered a large number of students to serve the community by volunteering at The Salvation Army Thrift Store, Benton Head Start, hosting a collection drive for the Friendship House and participating in the Red Kettle Challenge. She has also shared her talents by offering face painting at the Day of Service after-party.
At an annual event that acknowledges its supporters and fundraisers, UWNWLA singled out Clark for the Servant’s Heart Award for exhibiting outstanding volunteerism.
No one deserves this honor more and Bossier Schools is thrilled to be Christy Clark’s number one cheerleader.
