Benton Intermediate Band Director Closer to Winning GRAMMY

It is getting real now.

Benton Intermediate Band Director Cory Craig was already pinching herself after being chosen as a quarterfinalist for the 2022 Music Educator Award, presented by the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum. Now, she is one step closer to winning.

Craig received word she is one of 25 music teachers in the nation to advance as a semifinalist. More than 1,110 nominations were submitted for the prestigious award.

The GRAMMY Music Educator Award recognizes current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the music education field and demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools.

The recipient will be recognized during GRAMMY Week 2022 and receive a $10,000 honorarium as well as a matching grant for their school’s music program. Finalists will be announced in December.

Congratulations and best of luck to Craig, who leads the Benton Intermediate music program with her heart and soul.
