Parkway’s Lady Panthers marked a first in the school’s history; they clinched the 2023 LHSAA Non-Select Division I Girls' Basketball State Championship with an 80-57 victory over Ponchatoula and brought home the hardware.  

Senior guard Mikaylah Williams finished her sensational high school career with 34 points, 11 rebounds and was named the game’s Most Outstanding Player. She was also chosen to play in the March 18 All-Star games at Louisiana Christian University and lead the West team. Makenna Miles was tapped to play in the 3-point competition at halftime. 

Head Coach Gloria Williams said it was a hard-fought road to success that was marked by injuries, but the team persevered and put it all on the court.  

A victory celebration will be held for the Lady Panthers at 6 p.m. Monday, March 20 at Preston Crownover Stadium. Everyone is welcome to come out for a party worthy of State Champions!
