The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Test) is a qualifying test for National Merit Scholar status and provides an opportunity for your student to be contacted about some of the most prestigious scholarships available. Haughton High School will offer the PSAT to any interested junior or sophomore student on October 25, 2022.

If you would like to learn more about this test, we will host a brief Q&A for parents following Open House on Tuesday, August 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in Room S110 (Mrs. Allen's room). Registration for the PSAT may be completed after the meeting or with Mrs. Stallcup in room H1 any time before September 9th.  The fee is $18 (cash or money order) per student. 

Other important exam information:

  • Juniors taking this exam can be recognized with National Merit distinctions and scholarships
  • Sophomores taking the test will gain experience with the exam
  • PSAT scores can be used to determine Dual Enrollment eligibility
  • PSAT scores can be used for acceptance into most BPSTIL upper level classes
  • Seats may be limited, so please pay and register as soon as possible
