Six recent Bossier Parish graduates and a Benton Middle School teacher were on the receiving end of thousands of dollars for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education, thanks to the AFCEA ArkLaTex Chapter.

For two decades, AFCEA has proudly supported the next generation of STEM leaders and educators by awarding scholarships and grants to students and teachers across North Louisiana, East Texas and Southern Arkansas. AFCEA serves as a vital link between government needs and industry innovation, bringing together top professionals from government, industry and the military.

The 2025 AFCEA Scholarship Honorees receiving $2,000 are: Declan Miller and Molly Ann Milles, Benton High; Ethan Bamburg, Bossier High; Hannah Schroeter, Haughton High; and Mya Bardon and Josiah Dang, Parkway High.

Benton Middle School STEM educator Ida Smith was awarded a $1,000 Lockheed Martin Silver Partner STEM Teaching Tool Grant to further reach students at the middle school level.

Congratulations to them all!
