Now, the tables are being turned on the beloved BIS Cafeteria Manager, who received exciting news. She is one of 10 State Finalists for the 2026 Outstanding School Support Employee of the Year award.
The Louisiana Department of Education recognizes that support staff play a vital role in a school's academic success, and this award recognizes and celebrates some of Louisiana's most exceptional employees like Huckabee. BIS Principal Jennifer Burris nominated Huckabee for always going the extra mile for the Tigers, like tucking encouraging notes in lunches when students went to STARBASE.
Bossier Schools certainly thinks Alexis Huckabee is "top shelf" and are thrilled to cheer her on in April when she is recognized.
