We are celebrating three outstanding students who represented Bossier Parish Schools on the national stage over the summer at the Educators Rising National Conference in Portland, Oregon.

To earn the opportunity to compete nationally, these students first had to win at the state level, proving they are among the best in Louisiana. Kinley Johnson and Eva Salter from Benton Middle School, and Angele Gutierrez from Greenacres Middle, then traveled in June to Portland to compete against thousands of students from across the country—and they did not disappoint.

Not only did Kinley Johnson earn the title as a National Red Ribbon Winner for Interactive Bulletin Board in the Elementary competition, but she was also the highest scoring middle school student.  Angele Gutierrez took honors as National Runner-Up in Public Speaking; and Eva Salter shined as a National Competitor in Interactive Bulletin Board Elementary competition.

This event marks three consecutive years in which Bossier’s own Pre-Educator students have achieved top marks on the national stage.

These future difference-makers showcased their talent, creativity, leadership, and dedication while proudly representing their schools, their community, and all of Bossier Parish.

Congratulations to this trio of future teachers for their remarkable accomplishments. We are proud of how they represented Louisiana and Bossier Schools, where #EverythingMatters!
