๐ TOMORROW (Friday) is BIS' Fall Social fundraiser to support Gunner and his family. ๐
Weโre asking students to wear free dress and attend the event for a donation. We suggest a minimum of $10, which is what we usually charge for a social, but any amount will help and make a difference!
If youโre part of the Benton community or beyond and want to support this incredible family, donations can be made using the link below. Together, we can help ease their burden and show Gunner and his family theyโre not alone in this fight.
Donate here: https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/35747
Seeing the video of our sweet Gunner trying to push through the agonizing pain of physical therapy as he prepares to be transported to begin cancer treatment at MD Anderson in Houston just absolutely breaks our heart! Just a few short weeks ago, Gunner, a bright and energetic 6th grader at Benton Intermediate, was walking our halls with his classmates. Today, heโs facing an unimaginable fight โ battling cancer that has spread to and around his spine.
After undergoing a major surgery in New Orleans, Gunner is now enduring hours of therapy each day, working hard to regain his mobility. Soon, he will be transferred to MD Anderson in Houston for ongoing cancer treatment, where he and his family will likely be for months.
Gunnerโs mother, a local dog groomer, has had to step away from her job to care for him, leaving the family with the heavy financial burden of travel, medical expenses, and time away from work โ something no family is ever fully prepared for.
๐ Please share this post and consider contributing. Every little bit helps. ๐
Thank you, Benton family, for your unwavering support. Letโs rally around Gunner and show him the strength of our community. ๐ช๐
