LEAP 2025 results released by the Louisiana Department of Education show Bossier Parish students exceed the state average by 5% in Mastery and Advanced scores, and are accelerating their academic momentum, registering district-wide gains in the most rigorous performance bands, and shrinking gaps in achievement. Additionally, Bossier Parish leads Northwest Louisiana in third graders that meet state literacy standards.
Math LEAP Highlights:
In math, 22 of the district’s 32 school testing sites improved the percentage of students earning Mastery and Advanced scores. The most impressive gain came from Bellaire Elementary, which saw a remarkable 25% increase in math proficiency over the previous year. Other schools with double-digit gains include Plain Dealing High School (11%) and W.T. Lewis Elementary (13%).

At the high school level, over half of Algebra I students scored at Mastery or Advanced, reflecting a district-wide increase in Algebra I proficiency. Geometry proficiency remained steady, and grades 3–7 saw an increase in students earning Advanced math scores.
ELA LEAP Highlights:
ELA proficiency remained strong, with more than half of English I and English II students earning Mastery or Advanced scores. In total, 15 schools had at least 50% of students achieving at these levels.
Waller Elementary stood out with a 13% increase in students scoring in the Mastery range. The top-performing schools in ELA were:

Science LEAP Highlights:
This year, 16 schools made gains in science proficiency. Airline High School led the way with a 14% increase in Biology proficiency. Gains in science were observed across grades 4, 5, 7, and 8, with the largest high school content-area gain in Biology (+6%).
Notably, these improvements extended to subgroups with gains in proficiency rates in the following content areas:
Students with Disabilities: Geometry, Biology, Grades 3–8 Math & Science
Economically Disadvantaged Students: Geometry, Biology, Grades 3–8 Math
English Learners: English I, Algebra I, Biology, Grades 3–8 Math & Science
Military-Affiliated Students: Algebra I, Biology, Grades 3–8 ELA & Math
Black or African American Students: Geometry, U.S. History, Biology, Grades 3–8 Math & Science
Hispanic/Latino Students: English II, Algebra I, Biology, Grades 3–8 Math
K-3 Literacy Highlights:
Bossier Parish K-3 students demonstrated exceptional growth and proficiency this year on the K-3 Literacy Assessment, exceeding the state’s proficiency rate by 7%. On the end-of-year assessment, over 70% of K-3 students scored on or above benchmark for their grade level. Stockwell Place Elementary achieved the highest proficiency rate in the district with 88% of students scoring on or above benchmark on the end-of-year assessment. Additionally, 10 of 19 K-3 schools exceeded the district’s 71.1% proficiency rate:

ELPT Highlights:
On the English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) for English Learners, the district’s overall proficiency rate surpassed the state average, with grades K–2 ELPT proficiency rates doubling the state’s rate in those grade levels.
Grades 3-8 Social Studies and Civics scores will not be released until after the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education(BESE) meets in August to decide cut scores for the new assessments.
This marks the final set of LEAP data used under Louisiana’s current accountability system. LEAP testing taken during the upcoming school year will contribute to 2026 school performance scores, the first calculated under the revised accountability system.

Parents will receive their student's individual score reports via email the week of July 7-11. Reports will be sent to the primary parent listed in OnCourse.
