Our Firefighter students experienced their first live control burn using the fire prop — and they handled it like pros! 💪🚒
This hands-on training gives them real-world experience in fire behavior, teamwork, and safety procedures. We’re proud to see their hard work and dedication paying off as they take this important step toward becoming certified firefighters.
👏 Great job to all the students and instructors for making this a safe and successful training day!

Our PIVOT class enjoyed an important financial literacy lesson at Bonvenu Bank, where they learned about checking and saving accounts as well as other aspects of managing their finances. They also took a tour around the bank and learned how banks take care of customers' money. A special thanks to Bonvenu Bank president and CEO, Mr. Jason Smith, and banking officer, Mr. Ed Willson, for making our class feel so special.

Our PIVOT students worked on their cooking skills by preparing a delicious salad and BLT sandwiches for their lunch. Students also gained valuable information about the importance of protecting themselves by learning about topics such as internet safety when our guest speaker from the Gingerbread House came to share a lesson with them. PIVOT students are engaging in valuable experiences at BPSTIL that will help them in life as they grow into adulthood.

BPSTIL attended @ Bossier Parish Fire District One’s Fire safety open house. Several of our students helped out with the table giving the community information about our school. It was a well attended event that we have participated in for the past three years.

Our PIVOT students partnered with Mrs. Freese's agriculture class today to plant seeds that will grow into plants that will be planted in the boxes in the courtyard at BPSTIL. Some of these plants will eventually be used as seasoning for BPSTIL's culinary classes to make delicious dishes as culinary students learn more about cooking. PIVOT students really enjoyed working with the agriculture students on this project and look forward to monitoring the growth of these seeds into plants.
