Our End of the Year Honor Assemblies are coming up. We wanted to ensure you were aware of the time change and the dates. Each assembly will begin at 12:30 pm. They will be slightly longer than our normal assemblies as we recognize 4th quarter awards along with end of the year awards. Each grade level will receive: All As, A/B, and Perfect Attendance awards. Students (depending on grade level) will also receive a Student Council award, Red Jackets, NJHS. FCA Leader of the Year, Hall of Fame, Student of the Year, and Mr. and Miss HMS. We will not have donuts like we do the other assemblies.

It’s time to track down any library books that may still be hiding at home! Ask your student to check backpacks, bedrooms, and vehicles. 👀
Returning books now helps avoid fines and gets them back on the shelves for other readers. Thank you for helping us round up our missing books! 😊

New Episode Alert! HMS has a tradition called Farewell Flowers. All 8th graders will be allowed to participate in this event on May 12 during the school day. Each 8th grader will receive ONE flower and a tag. On the tag, students are asked to write a note to the adult at HMS that helped them BLOOM while in middle school. This can be to any adult at HMS - teacher, para, lunch lady, bus driver, office staff, custodian, counselor, or admin. Students will then be allowed to present their tag and flower to their adult. It is such a sweet time for the students and the adults.
Students will not have long for this activity. We are putting this on your radar now, so students can begin thinking about which adult at HMS they want to give their flower to.
If you have questions about this activity, please reach out to Mrs. Sanchez at Ashley.Sanchez@BossierSchools.org.

Please note:
- This is not every event - it is a snapshot of the BIGGER events!
- Our assembly times have changed. They will begin at 12:30.
- More information about these events will come out as we get closer to the dates.

We need your help to keep the momentum going while HMS students are LEAP Testing! To ensure every student can focus and do their best, please make sure they arrive on time and remain at school for the entire testing session. Our goal is a calm, distraction-free environment, so we kindly ask that you avoid checking students out early.
Any student who arrives on time and stays for the full duration of their testing sessions will qualify for a special reward this Friday, May 1!
Help your student stay focused and on-track so they can join in on the celebration!

We are asking that if your child wants to join a team, he/she gets the team and fee turned into Coach Newton this week. If we cannot get at least 20 teams we will cancel the tournament. The original sign up date was for next Wednesday, but we are asking to move the date up due to the lack of interest.
Students who don't participate will be given the opportunity to come watch the tournament.. if we have enough teams. More information will come as soon as we secure teams.
