Effective Monday February 23, your student’s bus stop time may be later than normal. This delay is due to construction on the railroad tracks on Winfield Road. From Monday, February 23 - Saturday March 14, traffic will not be able to cross over the railroad tracks on Winfield Road. This will unfortunately cause some later than normal arrival as well as drop off. The change will be in effect until construction is completed on March 14, but that work timeline is weather permitting.
Buses from Haughton High, Haughton Middle, Princeton, TL Rodes, and Platt will be affected by this construction.
Please see this bus list for complete information. https://bit.ly/46h7JSh
Thank you for your patience during this time period.

We are so excited to announce that Huckabee has been named one of 10 State Finalists for the 2026 Louisiana Outstanding School Support Employee of the Year!
BIS Principal Jennifer Burris nominated Huckabee for always going the extra mile for the Tigers, like tucking encouraging notes in their lunches and writing inspirational messages on bananas.
We certainly think Alexis Huckabee is the "top banana" and are thrilled to cheer her on in April when she is recognized!

UPDATE: Thursday, January 29, 2026
Bossier Schools will remain CLOSED for students and teachers Friday, January 30 out of an abundance of caution due to continued safety concerns on our campuses as a result of the wintry weather.
We cannot risk your children’s return to school until the thick ice accumulation melts or can be removed from awnings, walkways, bus ramps and parking lots.
Our district leaders and 12-month employees will be working Friday to get our schools and centers ready for reopening Monday, February 2, and to de-ice and prepare for another round of frigid temperatures being forecast for the weekend. This is a work day at our schools and centers, and they will not be open for normal operations.
We know this week has been unusual and Bossier Schools greatly appreciates your understanding, support and working with us to make the best of the situation.

Out of an abundance of caution, all Bossier schools and district offices will remain CLOSED Thursday, January 29 as the district continues to assess the impact the recent winter storm is having on operations.
Though the ice is melting, considerable hazards remain on roadways, bus ramps, in car lines and on our school campuses, making it unsafe for our students and staff to return. In addition, the National Weather Service is forecasting freezing fog overnight and into Thursday morning, heightening the danger of traveling.
It is our hope to reopen Friday, January 30 after another day of above-freezing temperatures. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding this week and will provide another update at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Bossier Schools will remain CLOSED Wednesday, January 28 due to icy roads that continue to pose unsafe road conditions.
It is our intent to reopen school Thursday, January 29, but a final decision will not be determined until 4 p.m. Wednesday after a thorough assessment can be made following afternoon heating and melt-off.
We greatly appreciate your continued cooperation and hope Bossier Schools can get back to a normal routine on Thursday. Stay warm and safe!

UPDATE: Sunday, January 25, 2026
All Bossier schools and centers will be CLOSED Monday and Tuesday, January 26 and 27, due to dangerous winter weather conditions and an Extreme Cold Warning that have made it unsafe for travel and school operations.
The district is continuing to monitor conditions and work closely with emergency management agencies to make the most informed decisions about when schools can reopen and will have another update at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
We appreciate your continued cooperation and understanding as we weather this winter storm together.

Bossier Schools wants to remind our families that all school activities will be canceled after 6 p.m. this evening as we prepare for the wintry weather headed our way. Based on the information we have as of this afternoon, we are aware Monday’s normal school operations may be a challenge and we ask that you be prepared for a closure. Our team will be closely monitoring the storm’s impact and we will have an official update at 4 p.m. Sunday.
If you’d like to better understand how we make weather-related decisions, we invite you to watch or listen to this special episode of On the Record with Bossier Schools. We hope it offers helpful insight and keeps you informed as we all weather the winter storm together.

Winter weather is headed our way late Friday into early Saturday, and Bossier Schools is actively working with the National Weather Service in Shreveport and emergency officials in preparation for its arrival.
Schools are open tomorrow, but all scheduled activities for Bossier Schools are canceled after 6 p.m. when the winter weather warning goes into effect. We will then monitor the weather and its impact on our area through the weekend, and provide an update at 4 p.m. Sunday with regard to our school system operations for Monday, January 26.
Dangerously cold temperatures are in the forecast and we urge everyone to stay inside and have a way to receive emergency notifications, including updates from Bossier Schools.
We appreciate your continued cooperation and will communicate with you Sunday.
