We will host two sessions to accommodate families:

Session 2: 4:00 PM
During Preview Day, you and your child will have the opportunity to meet our kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Curry, as well as other members of our staff. We will share everything you need to know about starting kindergarten next year.
In addition to learning more about our program, families can enjoy ice cream and take part in a special photo opportunity to celebrate this exciting milestone! The event will be held in the school library.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming our newest Little Lions to the Plain Dealing family!
Please help us spread the word to family, friends, and neighbors who may have incoming kindergarteners.Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to see you there!

Dear Seniors and Families,
If you have not yet paid for your cap and gown, please do so immediately. The final day for seniors at school will be Tuesday, May 6, 2025. On this day, caps and gowns will be distributed in the library following the conclusion of second block testing, no earlier than 10:00 a.m. Immediately following distribution, we will hold our Senior Awards Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. Families are invited and encouraged to attend this special event. After the ceremony, seniors and their families are invited to enjoy our Senior Field Day, featuring food trucks and various fun activities.
Before receiving a cap and gown, all seniors must be cleared of any school fines, fees, or obligations. This includes returning all library books, classroom materials, and athletic uniforms. Students who have outstanding obligations will not receive their cap and gown. In addition, as we prepare for the Senior Awards Ceremony, it is very important that the school is informed of any scholarships or awards seniors have received. Students must submit documentation of scholarships or awards to the school no later than May 1, 2025. Only awards submitted by this deadline will be included in the ceremony.
Graduation practice will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 7:30 a.m. in the PDHS gymnasium. Attendance at practice is mandatory. Honor cords and stoles will be distributed at this time to qualifying graduates. Casual but appropriate attire is permitted for practice. Please note that if a student does not attend graduation practice, they will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Following graduation practice, seniors will participate in the traditional Senior Walk through the school. Students must wear their full cap and gown for the walk, and clothing worn underneath must be appropriate—no obscene or revealing attire will be allowed.
Graduation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the PDHS gymnasium. Seniors must report to Mrs. Malone’s classroom in the main gym by 4:30 p.m. Students should park in the south side parking lot and will line up upon arrival according to the order practiced. The dress code for graduation is as follows: Girls should wear a dress, skirt and blouse, or pantsuit with flats or heels. Boys are required to wear dress pants (no jeans), a white collared shirt, and dress shoes. Decorating graduation caps is not allowed; any student who arrives with a decorated cap will have it replaced with a plain one. Only school-issued academic cords and stoles may be worn, and all cords and stoles must be approved prior to or during graduation practice in order to be worn during the ceremony.
Senior final exams are scheduled as follows: Third and fourth block exams will be administered on Monday, May 5, and first and second block exams will be administered on Tuesday, May 6. We are proud of all that you have accomplished and look forward to celebrating this exciting milestone together.

Juniors and seniors planning to attend this year’s prom are encouraged to purchase their tickets this week at the discounted rate of $15. Please note that beginning next week, the ticket price will increase to $25. We strongly recommend securing your ticket early to take advantage of the reduced rate. We look forward to a memorable evening!
